‘I’ve had no contact with West Ham’ – Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce responds to Hammers link

Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce says he’s had “no contact” with West Ham United amid reports he is set to join the Premier League club as a coach under David Moyes.

The Hammers sacked Slaven Bilic on Monday, and former Everton and Manchester United boss Moyes is expected to replace him.

Pearce, who spent two years with West Ham as a player, has been strongly linked with a coaching role under Moyes.

But he told talkSPORT on Monday night he’s not been approached by the club.

“I’ve had no contact with West Ham,” said Pearce, who was sacked as Forest boss in February 2015.

“But if I had contact with them I would certainly go and talk to them.”

When asked if he knew Moyes well, Pearce responded: “Well enough, of course.

“We are members of the same union don’t you know. He tried to sign me when he was at Preston actually.

“I really enjoy doing the media work but then again I enjoy coaching – I’ve been at a club today coaching.”
