Man United boost their academy
Away from the first team, Manchester United are constantly on the lookout for new talent to bring into their academy.
This week the Red Devils announced the sign of Aliou Traore. He’s a 17-year-old French midfielder.
Back in September, Man United signed 15-year-old midfielder Charlie McCann from Coventry.
And back in the summer Man United signed 16-year-old Arnau Puigmal from Espanyol, 6-year-old Northern Ireland midfielder Ethan Galbraith and 16-year-old Belgian-Burundian forward Largie Ramazani.
Lucas Gomes headed to Old Trafford
The next youngster poised to move to Man United seems to be Swedish teenager Lucas Gomes.
The 14-year old currently plays for Malmo, but he’s already been on trial at Old Trafford.
Gomes posted photos playing for Man United on his Instagram page.
Malmo Sporting Director Mikael Brandrup old Skanesport that he expects the youngster to move to England:
Lucas was in Manchester for week 44 and unfortunately I do not think we’ll keep him.
He moved here from Karlskrona in the autumn of 2016 to go to our sports school and, of course, he might have to wait until he left the school before moving back.
But I understand he’s impressed with United.
Man United vs Man City
After their comeback win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League in midweek, United take on City on Sunday.
Man City come into the match with an eight point advantage of their rivals.
The Sky Blues lost their first match of the season on Wednesday as a much-changed XI were beaten 2-1 by Shakthar Donestk.
In the league, however, City have 14 wins and one draw on the board.
