Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton called up to England Under-19s side for Euro warm-ups

Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton has received another England call-up for the Under-19s side.

The Reds teenager is part of the 22-man squad to take on Czech Republic and Slovakia next month in their warm-up matches for November’s European Championships qualifiers.

It comes on the back of the Young Lions’ Euros success this summer, when Brereton helped them lift the trophy in Georgia. And he is one of six players who were part of that victorious team to be selected for England’s latest internationals.

Paul Simpson’s side travel to face Czech Republic at SC Znojmo on Friday, October 6 and are then away to Slovakia at NTC Senec on Monday, October 9.

England will head to Bulgaria next month for the first qualifying round of this season’s Euro campaign. They will play the hosts, Faroe Islands and Iceland. The top two in that group then progress to the elite qualifying round next March, with the finals set to take place in Finland.

Brereton impressed for the Under-19s in their match against Germany at Mansfield Town’s One Call Stadium earlier this month, setting up his country’s only goal in a 3-1 defeat. He was an unused substitute in a 7-1 thumping of Poland a few days earlier.
