Nottingham Forest’s thrashing of QPR sees new Football League record set

QPR’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Nottingham Forest set an unwanted record for Ian Holloway’s side.

Rangers have now failed to win at the City Ground in 34 attempts. The defeat was their 29th in the league games, eclipsing Grimsby’s run of 28 without a win at Blackburn Rovers.

That is now officially the worst record of any Football League side at a single stadium.

The Londoners have never won at the City Ground and they showed little sign of ending their hoodoo on Saturday.

Saluting their hero – the Trent End stands to acclaim Tyler Walker

Tyler Walker opened the scoring on his first league start in two years with his second goal of the season in the 13th minute.

Kieran Dowell had set up the first goal and he doubled the lead shortly before the break.

Barrie McKay drilled in a third after 52 minutes and Walker got his second of the game with six minutes to go.

Victory for Forest lifted them to eighth, within a point of the top six in the Championship.

It was also their first win over a side managed by Ian Holloway on Trentside in seven attempts.
