Notts County players ‘are in a good place’, says boss Kevin Nolan

Kevin Nolan felt Notts County showed a “lot of quality” as they maintained top spot in League Two with a hard-fought point at Stevenage.

The Magpies had trailed at half-time after Danny Newton crashed a shot past Ross Fitzsimons.

But after regrouping at the break, Notts were much improved afterwards and saw Jorge Grant cushion a volley onto the bar.

Elliott Hewitt did eventually score the goal Notts deserved when he found the far corner with a well-placed strike.

Notts dominated the rest of the half, and, while they couldn’t find a breakthrough, boss Nolan was thrilled.
