Who has been Nottingham Forest’s most potent threat so far this season?

Sitting just two points off the Championship’s top six after 16 games, Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a bright start to the new campaign.

After a season of struggle last term, Mark Warburton’s Forest are looking upwards and gave their supporters a pre-bonfire night treat on Saturday when QPR were demolished at the City Ground.

Scoring some scintillating goals on the way, Forest have netted 25 times in their 16 league games, and one man has led the way according to stats compiled by Opta.

On-loan Everton youngster Kieran Dowell has not only created the most chances for his team-mates (28), but he’s also had the most shots on goal (36), followed by fellow summer signing Daryl Murphy (35).

In those shots at goal, Dowell’s had 11 blocked, the most of any Reds player, with Scottish duo Barrie McKay (10) and Jason Cummings (8) coming behind him.

When it comes to assists, McKay is out in front with seven, followed by Dowell (3) and then left-back Armand Traore and Ben Osborn with two each.

Ex-Rangers man McKay tops the Championship’s assist charts above Wolves’ Barry Douglas and QPR’s Luke Freeman with six each.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Brentford’s Ollie Watkins has the most efforts with 56, ahead of Wolves’ Diego Jota (47).

Rangers’ Luke Freeman has also created the most chances with 38, just above Watkins and former Forest man Jamie Paterson (35).

Jota is the man who’s had the most efforts, along with his Molineux team-mate Leo Bonatini (35), with Bolton’s Gary Madine third with 34.

Ex-Forest striker Britt Assombalonga is fourth best, attempting 32 shots on goal for his eight goals so far this campaign.
