Arsenal are set to beat both AC Milan and Juventus to the signing of a very talented youngster which could prove to be huge in the long-term.
That player comes in the form of 21-year-old Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, who many big clubs are currently tracking.
The Czech Republic international has been putting in some brilliant performances of late and that has brought attention from the big boys.
Not only that, reports today suggest that the player has a £6million release clause in his contract which is pocket change for any of the big clubs.
Arsene Wenger has now joined the race and looks to be the front-runner over clubs such as AC Milan and Juventus.
What is even more interesting is that reports today claim that if the club move for the midfielder, it could spell the end of one player’s career at the Etihad.
That player comes in the form of Jack Wilshere who has been linked with a move away from the club for a number of weeks now.
Real Betis are said to be interested in a move while Arsene Wenger has stressed that he would like to keep the player past his current contract.
That is important because the player’s contract will be up in the summer and he will be free to leave the club.
Should Arsenal bring in Jankto, that would pretty much seal Wilshere’s exit.
As I mentioned earlier, Juventus and Milan have both “backed off” Jakub Jankto however this doesn’t sit right with me as JJ has only a £6m Release-Clause yet it’s being touted Udinese value him at around £24m. But if the RC is accurate their valuation would be just digits…

Arsenal star out for a number of weeks
While Arsenal are planning for the future, they’ve had a blow in the short-term.
That is because one of their key players has suffered a serious injury ahead of their game against Manchester United.
