Premier League clubs are on red alert after the striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was dumped from the Borussia Dortmund squad.
BVB has suspended their top scorer Aubameyang for what the German club says are “disciplinary reasons.”
Dortmund said on Twitter that Aubameyang, who has scored 11 goals in 12 Bundesliga matches so far this season, has been left out of the side to face Stuttgart away on Friday.
Aubameyang is being linked with Barcelona, though he was mentioned as a target for Chelsea and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool during the summer transfer window.
The striker said in the interview with the Bild:”There was a time in the window when I could have changed.
“We (Aubameyang and the Dortmund board) agreed on this together in all openness but nothing happened.
“I have always felt very comfortable here in Dortmund, in the team and at BVB, and that is true today, as well. BVB is like my family!”
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Borussia Dortmund in summer of 2013 from the Ligue 1 club Saint-Etienne. He played in 206 matches so far at the Bundesliga giants and scored 135 goals for the club, which includes four hat-tricks.
