Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton made three changes for Saturday’s late Championship game at Hull City, with Daryl Murphy, Danny Fox and Armand Traore all missing out through injury.
Coming back into the Reds side were Tendayi Darikwa, Joe Worrall and Kieran Dowell to cover for the injured trio.
It’s expected that American defender Eric Lichaj will move to left-back to cover for the absence of Traore, with Darikwa moving to right-back.
Irish international Murphy was not in the squad, instead Jason Cummings leads the line for the visitors, with Ben Osborn and Dowell supporting the former Hibs man who is looking for his second goal in the Championship after netting against Sheffield United last month.
Worrall’s reward for penning a new long-term contract at the City Ground in the week was a place back in the centre of defence alongside captain Michael Mancienne after Fox was ruled out.
On the bench, there were places for Matt Mills, Zach Clough and Tyler Walker, all of whom played 90 minutes in Monday’s Under-23s draw at Crewe Alexandra.
Despite impressing in that game in Cheshire, there was no place in the squad for Mustapha Carayol who again misses out.
That trio were joined by Jamie Ward, Andreas Bouchalakis, Ben Brereton and goalkeeper Stephen Henderson.
Hull for their part include former Forest Academy graduate Michael Dawson as captain, looking to make it four games unbeaten in the Championship, having put six past Birmingham in their last outing on home turf.
Forest: Smith, Lichaj, Mancienne, Worrall, Darikwa, Osborn, Vaughan, Bridcutt, Dowell, McKay, Cummings. Subs: Henderson, Brereton, Mills, Clough, Bouchalakis, Ward, Walker
