Top marks for Jorge Grant as he reaches double figures with two goals in Notts County win

Ross Fitzsimons: Showed good hands to keep hold of a Dan Butler shot in the first half but that was the only time he was ever really tested. Rating: 7/10

Matt Tootle: Always in the thick of the action. Supplied some lovely crosses and he was the victim of the flailing arm which saw Butler sent off. Rating: 8/10

Richard Duffy: A very solid and assured performance from the centre-back who never panics even in the most chaotic of situations. Rating: 7/10

Carl Dickinson: Another fine game at left-back from Dickinson who is in a great run of form at the minute and is keeping Dan Jones out of the team. Rating: 7/10

Jorge Grant: Took some stick from the Newport fans early on and would have been delighted to pop up with his ninth and 10th goals of the season. Rating: 9/10

Jorge Grant scores his second goal against Newport

Terry Hawkridge: Showed some lovely touches and possesses a good brain. Always looked for the right pass and gets through a lot of work. Rating: 7/10

Shaun Brisley: Always a threat from set-pieces and Newport found him difficult to contain. At the other end of the pitch, he was solid. Rating: 7/10

Kevin Nolan on the touchline at Meadow Lane

Ryan Yates: Prowled midfield with authority and is never afraid to put his body on the line. Kept it nice and simple and was quick to shut down the opposition. Rating: 7/10

Elliott Hewitt: Will be kicking himself over a shot in the first half that he dragged wide, but apart from that did a fine job. Rating: 7/10

Jon Stead: Laid on the goal for Grant with great awareness and saw a header go wide. Does a good job for the team. Rating: 7/10

Notts County celebrate Shola Ameobi’s goal

Shola Ameobi: A big powerful presence, but showed some flair too particularly with a quality little flick in the first half. Rating: 7/10

Subs

Liam Walker (for Duffy, 80): Came on in the centre of midfield and looked a handful. Settled into the game and went close with a shot. Showed some cute touches. Rating: 7/10

Nicky Hunt (for Tootle, 80): Like Walker settled into the game well and even had a shot at goal having been urged to shoot by the Kop. Rating: 7/10

Jonathan Forte (for Stead, 85): May have only been on the pitch for five minutes but he caused the Newport defence some real problems. Rating: 7/10

Subs not used: Pindroch, Jones, Smith, Alessandra.
